Updated: May 13
A lot has happened since we first started planning the annual shareholders' meeting, which was originally scheduled for March 18. Assuming that local and state health authorities give us the go-ahead, we do plan to open this summer, but the exact date is still to be determined.
We are working with the Weston Board of Health to establish the conditions under which we can open the pond this season. These will be explained in detail at the annual meeting, which will be conducted via Zoom on Wednesday, May 19 (more on that below), and will be posted on the Valley Pond website once they’re finalized. These restrictions will include but not be limited to:
Limiting the number of visitors at the pond at any one time. We are looking into an online booking system to enable members to book particular time slots.
Careful social distancing while at the pond, even for our youngest swimmers.
No bathroom use except for staff.
No guests or parties, no trash disposal, no lightweight chairs or water toys provided by the pond.
Please be aware that policies are likely to change over time and possibly with very little notice. Patience and co-operation, traditional hallmarks for the Valley Pond community, will be key.
To learn all the details of what Valley Pond will look like this summer, join the board during our Zoom-based annual meeting on Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. We will email the link to all shareholders on Tuesday, May 12 (check your spam folder if you don't see it in your inbox). If you didn't receive the email, please email email@example.com.
